This happened to me before as well. I had to use channel lock pliers to get leverage and enough force to unscrew. It is a little bit scary. It only happened once a long time ago, and I think I unscrewed the motor adjustment too far. Hopefully it will work for you as well!

Mine is stuck in the unlock position and I can’t get it to lock to stay put.

Comment on Affordable Set Of Vintage M42 Lenses by Marc https://thevideoproguys.com/affordable-set-of-vintage-m42-lenses/#comment-92 Thu, 11 Oct 2018 00:41:19 +0000 http://thevideoproguys.com/?p=433#comment-92 In reply to Bradford.

Unfortunately, in M42 mount there’s not much choice for a wider lens. The widest m42 lens I have is the Mir20 and it’s f/3.5 and a tad soft wide open. At f/5.6 it gives great results. But it’s only 20mm.

That’s why I went with the Sigma 10-20mm f/4.0. Not the fastest lens neither, but doesn’t break the bank at roughly under $200 USD on ebay for a used one in excellent condition. That Sigma is also rectilinear, which is another plus unless you’re after a more “fisheye” look.

So if you want to go wider than this, you will have to consider other type of lenses.”

There exists rectalinear SMC Takumar 15mm/3.5. Not the sharpest lens of all time (to put it lightly) but it does the job stopped down.

Hi Paul,

There is a mount underneath the lens opening, it’s a swing away L mount. We can see it in the article thumbnail, it’s a standard 15mm mount what will fit with all other equipment.

Cheers,

Comment on How to work with LUTs by 15 steps to make Cinematic video footage and get that Film Look - The Video Pro Guys https://thevideoproguys.com/how-to-work-with-luts/#comment-77 Tue, 06 Feb 2018 22:14:49 +0000 http://thevideoproguys.com/?p=569#comment-77 […] Color correction and color grading play a big part of making your footage look more cinematic. With colors you can express moods and emotions, and, it gives your footage a stylistic touch. Studying a color pallet to fit the mood of your scene is part of the personalization you can do, I personally use Adobe Color CC to inspire me. Also, there are popular looks that are used in Hollywood blockbusters, and, will give you the film look, like Teal and Orange, which is available as a LUT in our Toolkit. You just need to load it with your favorite editing program. If you are not sure how to work with LUTs, we have an article for you here. […]
